hey guys i know this has proly been asked before so sorry but I have a 92 explore and i belive that the auto hubs are spun when i look at them the seem to look ok. If I just replace the hub cap I thik its called would that fix my problem thanx in advance sorry if this is a repeat

Most people would recommend going with a manual hub. The factory auto hubs are pretty crappy from what I hear. Sorry, I can't exactly answer your question - but I gave you some good advice. good luck.

thanx do you know how to tell if it is yhe inner part or the auto hub or is there such a ting?

There is an inner part to the auto hub assembly. It's called a Cam assembly and it sits on the wheel bearing locknut. It's plastic, and sometimes the "teeth" or "points" or whatever you want to call them can get rounded off.

Sometimes the auto hubs fail simply because they are too full of grease. There considered a "dry" hub, which means there shouldn't be any more than maybe a thin film of grease inside the hub assembly.

Beyond that, I'm not that familiar with the details of the failure modes for the auto hubs. If you're having problems with only one of the hubs, you can switch sides and see if the problem follows the outer part or not.
