Its a real simple process. Remove door panel. Then there are 3 bolts holding the mirror on. If you have power mirrors there is also a plug.

page 3 and 4 of that link tell you how to do it

I'm not 100% but you have to take the door panel off. Then there is usually three bolts you have to take off and unplug the wire for the power mirror. I don't think you can just buy the plastic, you have to get a new mirror.

no you can't just buy that one piece..you have to buy the whole mirror. I have replaced the ones on my truck. One also from the tree jumping out at me..the mirror will run you around $150.00. Just like the others were saying you have to take the door panels off to get the mirror off.It is quite easy to do.

can the piece that swivles come off?? not the piece that goes into the door. but the piece that has the mirror.
thanks Jeff

Yes the swivel part can come off but Ford doesnt just sell that part. Plus if you have power mirrors its a real PITA to try and put that piece back in.

pick it up from torrie@fordpartsnetwork.com Thats where i got mine. I hung the old broken one up on the wall in my room

Has anyone tried just getting a piece of mirror cut to the exact shape and glueing it over the broken mirror? Mine is shattered but still in place, and I need it to look good to pass the safety inspection. If it's been tried, and failed, I'll reconsider this brilliant idea. Any thoughts ?

I cant imagine it working well, but it could work.
