Spending the rest of the night welding up the rear shakles got dementions for a 2.5 inch lift shackle

Got the flexy Flares in they are going on tonite and ordered front lift blocks and 2" wheel spacers for the rear to even it out thanks for the input

patience and i program robots for a living so i am at work alot 7 days a week and do almost nothing most days so i spend alot of time on craigslist and other sights. i live in a village in michigan but i can drive a hour in any direction and end up in a city so i troll for cityiots (idiot city folk) that have more money than brains and dont know what they have.

and that isnt just a massive pile of bondo it 1/8" thick i cut that all out and welded new steel in behind it. did that to all four of the inside lower corners

so far the grand total including gas to get the truck and trailer rental to get it home is 826$ also including shackles front lift blocks and 1.5" rear spacers and the rims and tires

I paid $500 for mine, had to buy some tires the others were about to pop - 200$. then had to do a FULL brake job costing about 400$, a starter for 100$, a battery for $125 terminals 5$ fog lights 40$ forced to build a new interior, was getting sick from it. from carpet to panels to headlines to now dash has been about 250$ plus the only guage that works right now is fuel guage so im hacking out another 200$ for some REAL gauges, dont care to install another factory joker panel. and my motor is on the edge of blowing so another 800$ for a donor Navajo with a newer motor and trans. Then another 800$ on a 4in superlift 90$ on warrior shackles and then some 32s or 33s which will probably be close to 400-500$ w/rims. So yeah I'm putting a good 4 grand or so into this poor thing. But it's the only wheeler truck I plan on owning so I'm going to be keeping it for awhile. Which is why it's worth it to me :)

Cool project truck....seriously big tires though!

I know what you mean about throwing money at your truck. I've got way too much into mine but I love my truck and don't mind putting money into it. I've learned so much about mechanical things and what not by wrenching on it that its worth the expense. Besides, I can teach my boys about this stuff. And, it takes us places that I wouldn't want to take a nicer, newer, vehicle with.

Ya this is not going to be dd i have a 92 sport on 31s i drive daily and a 93 xlt that i use for hualing things. I dont have kids but my nephew is 4 now and my brother is a total city boy so this is going to be used to give my nephew a dose of country life and let him decide on his own what side of the fence he wants to pursue

With the tires shackles the green one is my donor. Got all the body rust cut out now and new sheet metal welded in. Now the race against michigan winter is on to finish the bondo and get the painting done.

Well i finished cutting all rust out and welded in new steel went at least a inch past all rust so i know its gone. Then today i spent all day sanding and putting four layers of herculiner on. Must say the new green frog painting tape is amazing. Will never buy anything other again. Next project is the 2.5 inch spacers in the front and 3inch body lift. New total is 1052$ total investment in truck.

I program robots and cnc mills just a background first. I am going to be removing the ac cond. And i will be fabing up a bracket to mount another alternator in its spot and then running it to secondary battery witch i will place under the hood. This will act as a completely independent power supply for lights and others and in the event of failure i can move main batt. Cables over to second batt. And use. After i make bracket up i will draw out a blue print and pass it forward.
