Button problems

I got my 2002 explorer xls about a year ago and it had the door ajar problem when I bought it. The power window switch, and lock switch also do not work so I was wondering if the problem is most likely a broken ground wire and not multiple switches. The window controls all work so I assume they are on a separate wire. Any advice would be appreciated before I start taking things apart and buying expensive switches. Thanks!

There are multiple wires that break in the drivers door jamb. If you search you’ll find plenty of info.

Remove door cover, peel back door jamb boot, tug on every wire making sure you find all broken ones.

My ‘03 has three broken wires (drivers side) and a lock mechanism that needed lubed (pass. side.)
None of the wires were ground.
