2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer
I was looking at buying a used 1999 Explorer Eddie Bauer and was wondering if anyone could help me understand what the problem could be with it? I'm pretty good at fixing things and I already own a 2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer. This one I'm looking to buy would be for my uncle.

This is the description that the seller gives.
"REDUCED TO $300 OBO. MUST BE GONE TODAY.Truck still runs but does not start. It was run low on oil and has an erratic oil pressure and lost compression in cylinder 5. This would be a good project for someone who is mechanically savvy. The front end was recently rebuilt and has 4 very new tires. Drove great before this incident. Must provide own transportation to move the vehicle."

Thanks!

Dang... Looks like they just removed the listing... Thanks anyways!

$300 is scrap value, but it sounds like the engine is junk. Depending which engine it had (V6 OHV, V6 SOHC or V8) it might be worth saving, but you're going need to replace the engine. Are your mechanical skills up to it? I wouldn't bother with it unless it's a V8 and unless it's otherwise in good condition.
