buying a used bronco.

Well I know this isn't a bronco 1 forum but it's the closest we got.

A guy has a 1990 ford bronco 4x4 auto, black with tan top, 351 (I assume Windsor)

The engine/trans/rearend were all rebuilt about 41k miles ago. It has a little rust on both rear fenders slightly heavier on the drivers side. Paint is in decent shape but is a little faded in certain areas.

Has a manual transfer case ,auto lockers, and a dual super 40 exhaust.

Wants 2000$

What do you guys think?

What should I lookout for?

What trans would this have? Any weaknesses?

Any thing else I should ask about?

$2000 is high price for a 90 FSB (full size bronco) can you verfiy all those items were rebuilt?
If they were then its probably worth it.

Expect to be doing some work to it though, 1990 is now 18 years old = bushings, mounts, bearings, all toast or needing attention

Well I talked to the bank and to allstate and everything is about setup to swap car for cash Probly next week. It's going to be much cheaper than i thought.

Test drive is tomorrow. I can't wait to see what that 351w has to offer!

According to the guys at fsb, it has an E4OD trans. And a bw1356 t-case. And a d44 ttb and 8.8 rear. So I should be formiliar with most of the car except the body from dealing with my ex.

Am I correct in assuming that the hard top in the back is removable? A guy at my work has his off. But I don't know if it's a standard thing.

insurance going to be much cheaper than i thought! only 100 bucks a month for comprehensive on the ex and liability on the bronco!! i think i may just do comp on both trucks. tired of people steelin my ****.

i guess allstate decided to forgive me for my teething driver mustang accidents.

well nix that.

Went to test drive today, thing has NO power.

Felt likeit was missing on at least 2 cylinders. And there was SOMETHING wrong with the trany. Kinda hard to explain.

Oh well I'll keep my eyes open
