Hello again, I'm not sure I will attempt this for a while as my transmission seems to be working fine, but I have access to a C-6 with low miles (out of an old motorhome with a 460. engine destined for another project.) and I was wondering if it would replace the transmission in my 99 AWD 5.0? I know it wouldn't be a direct bolt in and I'd be giving up a few gears from the stock tranny, but I'd be gaining a much stronger and seemingly (from what I've read) more reliable transmission. anyone's thoughts on this swap and what it would involve would be appreciated. Does the computer control anything in the tranny? I'm worried about screwing up the electronics part of it most.

the thought of attempting to make it fit, mating it with awd and playing with vaccume lines is not worth swaping out your 4r70 you have now. The V8 tranny is really reliable.

Thanks Boomin. By the way, that's a cool video of your burnout! you must have a very trusting camera man. Those were some good close-up shots!

There are smallblock C6 transmissions, but a 460 is a bigblock. The AODE can be made to handle most performance V8's. You might consider installing a Transgo system correction kit, or their shift kit, plus fluid and filter. Good luck,
Don
