Cabin air filter

Does anyone know about the cabin air filters on a 2001 explorer.
How many there are? Where they are? How much they cost? How easy it is to replace them?

Then why does my cab always smell like thick dust everytime I turn my AC, vent, and/or heater on?

You probably have fungi/bacteria growing in the ductwork.

Try spraying the intake ( cowl ) with Lysol ( http://www.lysol.com/ ) while the blower is on high.
