off road spot

im from nnj and there is a fun spot behind the sheraton cross roads hotel in mahwah nj...illegal but cops are pretty cool about it....its right off of rt 17 north on the border of ny state....its a little tricky to find the trail...look for the dust bowl...if there is an intersted ill give a detailed description of how to get to the trail..

tony anyone close to me in nnj drop me an email...

if you want some real trails in the same area let me know, I know a whole lot up in the ramapo mountains
I have been chased out of the sharp building a few times

hey fellas I'm from jersey too -Burlington county now- used to live in Bergen County though- Garfield. not into wheelin but just felt I also had to represent Dirty Jersey:D

NJ doesn't have much to speak of. I am from Willingboro, in Burlington County, Your best bet is probably taking a short trip to the Pa Mountains, try out near Hershey, I hear there are some good trails out there

South Jersey here, just got a 91 ex. I hear you on nothing in jesrey and the mud is hardcore. anyone in Cape may county shoot me a line

there isnt much in jersey and its gettin less by the day... THANKS SIERRA CLUB! there is some wheeling down the forked river area if you want to call it wheeling... its more like mud and more mud. There is also some easy wheeling up in rockaway though i dont think its legal. Ive only been there once and its a really nice area. For some good wheeling there is a place called paragon www.paragonap.com out in hazleton pa. you gotta pay to play but they have some real good trails.

yeah NJ sucks for just about anything i gotta get out of this garbage state.
SO TRUE. I got out in in March of 2000 after 29 years of that horrible place. Live in Myrtle Beach now. I just went home for Thanksgiving and COULD NOT WAIT to get back to MB. I lived in the Woodbury area (about 10 minutes over the bridge from Philly) for the last 4 years I lived there. Used to have to drive up to friggin Cranbury every day (55 miles) for 2 years for work. Do yourselves a favor, MOVE. It's well worth it.

You lived right near me. I live off of rt 45 in west deptford. right near the old bradlees/shop rite.

I go to west deptford about twice a week...I wonder if Ive ever seen your X there before?

I went to walmart in mansfield today and i saw 2 explorers with stuff done to them. one had lens covers and baja rims with mickey thompson tires. and i saw another one with rather large stickers that read "Xtreme" or something to that effect.

im from pemberton twp, burlington county, nj. Hainsport twp off of rt.38 (rancocas rd i think) has state land with trails, kinda hidden didn't know about it until recently. The old quary off of rt 37 and rt 70 is huge and awesome also illegal but i know back entrances. i also have 3 pits next to my house. millions of trails, and just down the road is chatsworth which has swallowed monster trucks. a lot of trails are tight but shouldn't be a problem. nothing a little wax can't buff out. i have a lot of fun with my dirtbike but would probably have more fun with my explorer

i was down on the 1/4 mile this summer, and one of the Barren's mud holes swallowed my x up to the headlights. i suggest that you have lots of recovery equipment. :redexp: $200 for a tow sucks, but till then, its fun wheelin' with water adn lots of sand. just stay out of the mud.

I'm right in South Jersey like a few of you, in Winslow Township. There are a ton of fire trails around off Jackson Rd. and Rt206. Some offer challenging mud holes and others just nice sandy trail riding.

Just remember to keep your lights on and beware of motercycles and ATV's... they fly through the trails. One of those ATV's could do some damage to your truck... not to mention really mess up the driver! :-)

I was down in atsion in june and sunk my truck in 3ft of water off of rt 206 not to far from the ranger station.

The nice thing about most of those trails is that there is usually a "high road" and a "low road". If you don't think you can make the puddle there is usually a way around it! :-)

I did some "wheeling" up in stokes state park today. I use the term wheeling loosely as only had to put it into 4hi a handful of times.

boonton, nj here.... right next to the wheelin spot in rockaway, off I-80 east or west.. the place is called split-rock... they've tried to close it off but the wheelers have found a way around it.. its mostly a rock, dirt and small (i stress SMALL) mud/water holes enough to get your truck dirty :bounce: the last section is mainly made up of woops... i used to own a full size blazer, 33's, 4 inch body and went through with a bunch of friends full speed and the battery let loose and exploded :banghead: but anywho... its a good trail its probably the best we're gonna get around here...
if anyones interested in going email me... i have yet to check out the pagona site but if anyone is going to that fill me in... i own a '92 x stock now but i'm researching a lift to run 33's and doing gears and mid range lockers
