Camshaft position sensor

Can any one tell me how to set the timing on my 1994 exploder,i installed a new camshaft position sensor and oil pumpshaft and now the engine won't start and is back firing through the intake/exhaust,is there any way to bypass the sensor,by swapping the computer from a noncamshaft sensor motor like a 92 exploder please help!!!!

Set engine to tdc, install the special cam sync tool onto cam sensor assy. and install assy. into engine.

in theory you could use a 93 computer and bypass/ignore the cam sensor, most 93's (except CA) did not have the cam sensor, but they also did not have EGR so you would be bypassing that also
