Can anyone tell me what this part is?

I was replacing the blend door actuator on my wife's 2006 Explorer, and everything went well...except when I was reaching up to blindly tighten a screw I felt this piece unclip and then fall down. I see the hole it goes into, which is now blowing out cold air into the cabin. I just don't know what the other two end connect to. Any help is greatly appreciated!

A drain that pokes out of the firewall so the A/C condensation can drip possibly?

Is the cold air from outside or from the A/C running?
