can my 2016 take E85 at the pump?

I've seen some explorers with the "flex-fuel" badge on the back however my 2016 4-Cylinder Limited doesn't have that badge.

can I run E85 in my Explorer or will it cause harm?

I thought I had heard that all newer vehicles had a Government regulation that would allow them to function on E85 but maybe that's not true and just a rumor.

any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Do not run E85 in EcoBoost engines.

Open your gas door there should be a tag telling you that info. Your filler neck would be yellow also I believe.

E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% straight gasoline.
E15 is only 15% ethanol. Here in MN we have 88 Octane which is usually listed as E15.
The most common fuel is up to 10% ethanol.
