Can this be done?

Okay so im looking through some Truckin mags.Well i find these stock gauges that i like.Not sure but i think out of an f-150.The gauges are styled witht he speedo and tach on the sides and the fuel,temp,voltage,and oil gauges in the middle.

Now with our first gens the gauges snap outta place.So im wondering if its possible to re-arrange ours to look like those?So basically we would have the speed gauge and the other 4 switched places.Im thinking that this might be posible.Any thoughts would help with this one.

Im thinking no. If i rememeber correctly, the back of each gauge has a few copper contacts that are loosely-fit into the housing. If you were to swap around the gauges, they would be recieving information from the other units, and wouldnt be consistant to what the gauge is supposed to read. So in essense, if you swapped the Fuel guage and the temp gauge, you fuel gauge would then read the temp and the temp would then read the fuel.

Thats right.I forgot that those were back there.Oh well so much for that idea.
