i have 2 rust spots above each rear wheel well and i am planning to wrap them in carbon fiber to cover them up. It will basically act as wheel well trim, except i wont be paying 400$ to the dealer for a few inches of plastic.
anyway,
what is the best way to wrap something in carbon fiber? I have never done it before and im in the dark here.

First you need the CF fabric. I get mine from ebay (http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_tr...carbon+fiber+fabric&_sacat=See-All-Categories), make sure it' 2x2 twill for that original CF look. You will need to do at least 2 layers so you don't see anything through the fabric. You will also need the epoxy resin (don't use polyester it shrinks!). I use MAS epoxy resin http://laserpointerforums.com/attachments/f51/22603d1248477856-carbon-fiber-host-tutorial-resin.jpg it has a decent working time and will cure in 24-48hrs depending on thickness.
To get that really slick and thick looking professional finish you really need to make your parts in a mold with a vacuum bag. But since your just trying to cover existing parts without a mold you will probably need to clear coat the CF after it's cured.
There are quite a few youtube vids on making CF parts so you should be able to get a good idea of how it's done.
Oh, and make sure you get rid of that rust first with some chemical remover or wire wheel etc. you don't want that rearing it's ugly head again in the future
I plan on doing some CF on my 94 as well so I'll post back with any updates.
Keep us posted on your project.
