...92 and older X's and 94 and older Rangers only had RABS (rear abs only)

anyone know if all explorers came with abs??? im ditching the whole module/system and need to find what rangers/explorers without abs used.

I elminated mine, just made a new hardline because I had to anyway for my porportioning valve.

Otherwise it's always been fine to just ignore it unless your 2nd gen has issues with the whole pickup from the rear diff for trans shifts and whatnot.

speed sensor is in the trans so no worries with that. the abs stuff takes up a lot of room so it needed to go lol. im gonna have to run a new prop valve also, just need to figure out where inline. i might have my local shop make me a distribution block so i can re use my stock lines. its al the little thimgs that are going to add up and take the most time lol

I HATE 4WABS

LOOK at all that crap that goes along with it

cant wait to see what you come up with next LOL

FYI why not the sport trac conversion? hmm? hmmm? LOL that F-150 clip is HUGE and looks out of place on the explorer IMO
but thats just me, I really like the ST clip

i need something 85"ish wide and big enough to fit a 35" tire with the wheelbase moved forward 2" or so.

when is the 5.0 going in ?

havent found a donor yet. if everything is built and still cant find one a used 4.0 will go in so i can have fun.

4.0 will go in so i can have half the fun

fixed!! lol find a v8!!! try az and ut craigslist also??

I told him the other day where a 5.0 was at :dunno:

Guess he does only want to have half the fun :p:

im gonna check both CO and AZ craigslist if i have too.

If half the fun is pinned WOT at 70 through the super nasty rough stuff then im ok with that lol. The engine is kind of last on my list of things i need. The list is huge and lots of money involved which i ran out of already hahahahaha,.

Small update
All shocks have been bought and front kit should be ready to install soon.

Decided to throw another wrench in and ditch the crappy stock rack. Most likely going to run a chevy 1 ton steering box, with a modified ford pump and volvo cooler with built in fan. Should be plenty strong and reliable.

finally it looks like the new kit will be going on and getting cycled tommorow or sunday. hoping to build the shock part of the engine cage also and have it back on its own front wheels this weekend. travel numbers should be alot greater then with the first kit, pics coming in the next few days....

Ill toss up some pics later. But the new front kit cycled a hair over 20" of clean usable travel. Very happy with the results. Had to do some frame cutting that will be reshaped and plated later.
