Can anyone tell me what the differences are in the PRE-95 cat back systems versus our 95-01 systems? I have a 98 Explorer (recently acquired) that could use some exhaust replaced (worst is from the converter back). I found a 93-94 system for sale that fits my current budget a lot better than the systems I've found online for the 98. It has aluminized 2.25" pipe, turbo muffler & side exit... The stock system appears to be restrictive so I think this kit could help with power & fuel economy. My neighbor has a torch & welder he lets me use when needed. Is it feasible to use the older system, or would the trouble cost more than the $200 difference in price? Thanks for your input!

OH- it is an XLT 4.0L 4WD 5-Speed 4door if that helps... Thanks again!

I just replaced the pipe after the rear cats and jumped up to 2.5" thrush turbo muffler and removed the rest of the exhaust so it just dumps before rear axel
