Catalytic converter?

hello 2 all ! got a 1994 Eddie Bauer X w/ EGR here with the two catalytic converters ( 1 unit ) Wanting to do the new exhaust thing, was thinking of a 50 series FLOWMASTER, single inlet dual outlet. This in hopes of letting the engine "breath" more. Would one be able to replace this catalytic converter system with a single universal MAGNAFLOW "High - Flow" catalytic converter? THX

Yes you can replace both with a single cat, don't expect any power gains though.
