CCR2000 pics

Bill, we had two Rangers. Ranger-Y and Ranger-Z. Actually it was Scott Bosso in his white Ranger and Brandon ? in his maroon Ranger. Scott came all the way from Georgia!

rangers? what rangers? I only see SportTrack prototypes!

:D

Gosh, I was just checking my pics, and noted that I didn't take as many I as usually did.. Guess that came from helping Perry & the PurpleJeepEater and Gerald over that itty bitty rock, right? And to think that Rick was sitting in an interesting hole to take those pics..

Pics will be online some time tomorrow - I find it fastest to transfer at work!

Below are video grabs of Ouray and our parade down main street. If you'd like to see more of our pics (which will be updated again soon), go

Thanks again to everyone for an excellent weekend full of memories to last a lifetime!

Black Bear

Just a little information,
We were talking to a lady in Telluride that said the Saturday before we went up Black Bear someone was up there in a two big of a truck and freaked out at the steps and they had to call a tow truck that went around to Ridgeway then up from Ouray and tow him off the mountain. She said the pass was closed all day, so I guess we picked a great day to do it. If you ask me we couldn't have asked for better weather. People that live here know when you get that high it can change really fast!!!!

By the way Tom, thanks for the good spotting on Poughkeepsie Gulch. I was ready to quit, but no one would let me.

Aawwe, come on matt, your rig in the explorade is the only one I can easily recognize:D Looks like everyone had a great trip.

Now this is just awesome:

Hey Tom,

Just wanted to join everyone in saying a big thanks to Gerald for organizing the Colorado Fall Colors Run 2000! You did a fantastic job! Also thanks to Rick and Char for starting the board-great group of people! I had a blast, learned a lot, and met some amazing people! Hard to believe that less than a year ago I was driving a Honda and now I'm climbing rocks, forging streams, and checking out some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen at 13,000 feet! I was sorry it had to come to an end and can't wait till the next one! This weekend further confirmed to those that I work with that I might be a little bit more crazy than they thought-the story of the shelf roads had most of them looking a little queasy.

Char-loved your sense of humor! I think we're safe, I'm not itchy are you?

Matt-it's all in good fun. If you get right down too it most of us are probably jealous of your truck. I know I sure got some ideas on this trip...

Thanks to all my spotters, line pickers and supporters. As Cwistine would say.."woo hoo!" you are all great! :bounce:

Hi All,

We got back about home about 3:30P today. Had no road problems, and a very smooth trip until we hit S.CA traffic! Towing thru that was far more terrrifying than any shelf road CCR 2K could possibly produce! :) Thanks to Rick and Char for convoying with us as far as Flagstaff. We went on into Laughlin last nite, then to Orange Co. today.

The scenery was absolutely fantastic, the Explorer performed beautifully, and the pre-trip improvements exceeded expectations.

The very best part, though, was meeting new folks: ( in no particular order) Wabbit & Cwistine, Robbie, Brandon& family, Sinjin& Kelly, Chris , Jen, Brian1& Dad, Scott & Dad, Perry & Family, Dennis & Lisa, and also seeing some of the folks we already knew such as Matt Adams, Rick & Char, GJarret, GoFast& Family, TD. and probably some others we've forgotten to mention.

The pictures are way cool, thanks to all who could post so soon.

RangerX: We actually had 2 Rangers on the run: Scott Bosso (now "Ranger Y") and Brandon ("Ranger Z"). :D

Thanks again to all for a Great Run. See you at Truckhaven 2001, or sooner.

Beam me up to Colorado, Scotty!

A bummer most of these great events ar so faaaaaaar from the east coast. It would have been a blast to join you guys.

Tom, you have some nice group pictures of Saturday morning. Would it be possible to put some names to the people (also on other group pictures, if there are), so we, who volountiered to stay home to keep this forum active :D would know, who is who. I like to put faces behind names :D

In general, I think it would be nice to see more pictures of the truck owners, in signatures for example. I'm talking to Matt on this forum, not to Tippy, sorry, Vegas :D

trust me you wouldn't want my picture in my signature... the explorer picture yes... me no... LOL

I will second that. :) Course I wouldn't want my picture next to my signature either. :) Although Matt you do have that good picture of you drinking that Large orange juice that would work. LOL

OK, no pictures of humans in the signature, I got it :D

Pics with names...

That's one of the "rewards" of attending a run - getting to meet who's who. Otherwise, it's more fun to keep it a mystery... ;)

PICS

My pics are going up as we speak, you can find them at:
Dead Link Removed
Just click on the Colorado link.
Im scanning them in one at a time right now, so refresh your screen, and there might be more.
Thanks and Enjoy,

SCAMP

Patrick was wondering how Scamp is doing??
We can't forget how well Scamp did on the CCR2000 trip. I suppose he is enjoying his haircut now that he is back in the heat!!!!
GO SCAMP!!!

Actually, Scamp is still sick, so it wasn't car sickness. I am afraid he ate something poisonous. He's headed for the vet this afternoon.
