Change soft bag to full hard console?

I have a 2000 tan Explorer XLS with one of those soft bag center consoles and a busted arm rest. Before I make any effort to replace the arm rest, I wanted to find out if there was any standard full hard console that I could put in place of what I've got now. (I REALLY hate this soft bag thingy).

Any particular year or model that would best match the space and setup for my Explorer?

1995+ high-series center console will fit your truck no problem. But, the 1995-1996 will have a different tan (Saddle Tan, you have Medium Prairie Tan)

I'm not for sure on the tan in the 2001+ sport, but the console will also fit.

Next to learn the process of removing and replacing...but I'm sure that's here in the forums somewhere. :>)

I've never removed a short series console, but it has to be very similar I would think.

I think this is the link you tried Joe, but it didn't work for me...
I did the swap on a 2001 explorer from the crappy bag one to a full lenght one, the guy at the JY said teh full lenght one came from a sport track and I had no issues....
