There are a couple pieces of advice I can give:
- make sure you don't leave the old o-ring in the valve body. The new filter comes with one so you will see what I mean.
- use a torque wrench on the bolt that holds the filter in.
- use a fram dacron filter, other filters are more of a screen than a filter
- simply changing the fluid in the pan only changes roughly a quarter of the total fluid. If you really want to change your fluid you could do a flush. There is a thread by Aldive in the sticky section. I have done it and it wasn't hard to do.
- install an inline filter in the cooler line. You can get them from transmission shops cheaply and they are cheap insurance. Very easy in install too.
