I have a 01 Sport Trac. I was going to change the fuel filter and figured out how to remove the 2 hoses coming in to the filter and removed the clip holding the other end but I couldn't get the hose off. Is there a trick or special tool or do I just need to pull harder. I didn,t want to screw anything up. The end with 2 hoses had plastic clips to push that released the filter but there is just a metel to metel conection on the other end. Any help would be appreciated.

And in my experience, even with the special tool its still a pain in the ass.
Don't forget to release the pressure of the fuel line before you begin. There's a schrader valve up at the fuel rail in the engine bay that you can relieve the pressure with.

No Schrader valve on the 2001, at least not on mine. Remove the relay or the disconnect in the passenger compartment and turn over for a few and it will relieve pressure.
