Changing lower control arm ball joints?

I've read the stickies. But I haven't seen-or have missed-anyone saying why not just remove the control arms and use a hydraulic press to remove and install. Is it really that much more work to remove the arms?

Probably cause most people don't have access to one and then I think you then have to screw with the torsion bars and in most cases, rust, rust, rust so the less you touch the less you have to "fight" with.

Whether you press out a joint with a hydraulic press or a "torque" press, its basically the same "single step" in the chain of processes.
