You could reuse the rubber gasket if it isn't deteriorated. Don't reuse paper or cork gaskets. They will fall apart when you remove them.

The 07 is rubber. Mine is on its 4th or 5th by me. My guess is the 06 is the same.

I think all explorers gen 2 though gen 4 had reusable rubber gaskets.

He might be just swapping what’s in the pan. A lot of people do that

Im tracking now. Any particular reason why you want to try and reuse the gasket? It is a cheap enough part to replace. Risk of leaking after reusing the gasket seems a bit too high not to buy a new one. If you are trying to save money, get one of the filters that come with a new gasket. Just my $.02

Reusable gaskets are not cheap hence the reusable part. My f250 has a reusable gasket that's why I asked about the explorer. Thanks for the input guys!
