bmx- dont worry i wont be doing this for a little while,

and as for the tires, the more and more i think about it 37"gy mtr are $190 and 35"kumhos are $130, is 2" really worth $60 more. soo i think im goin to settle for running 35's because for the $200 more 37's i can get a aussie locker. so yeah im just tryin to come up with ideas and a parts list for the winter projects
where did you find GYs for 190$ a peice for 37"s???

i have superlift 5.5 and soa, and i wheel pretty hard, and im noticing that i am gettin lots of sag up front with 33's,

Good luck

what is pa's lift laws? i looked somewhere and i saw it was 28" or so from the ground to the bumper, but that cant be right, because then my little xplorer is illegal.

Well in our great state of PA some part of a car's horizontal bumper bar must be between 16 and 20" from ground level. For us some part of a multi-purpose vehicle's horizontal bumper bar must be between 16 and 30" of ground level. If I remember correctly my stock bumper is 22" with the lower air dam removed. Im sure if you weren't much over that you could find someone to inspect the truck, and you wouldn't need to worry about gettin pulled over. Gotta love Penn Dot

^^^lol! is that up to date, because my little xplorer is probably one of the biggest midsize around here but when it comes to fullsizes, there is a dodge 1500 wit 39's and a gmc with 42's, they could like run my ass over,

but anyway im still on the look out for a dana 44 to do my sas, but which could i get coils or leaf springs? im thinking about leaves because they seen easier, and the biggest coils i can find are 5.5" (which i was told will lift my explorer 7") and i want to have 10"-12" of lift to fit the 37's or 38's and still have some room to flex
so what steering parts do i need? do i need a trac bar?

jeebus man, search! You really shouldn't be even thinking about an SAS if you have to ask those questions.

Coils - trac bar necessary, you can get longer coils than 5.5 and you can move the buckets to get more lift.

Leafs - trac bar optional, rarely used.

Steering - usually custom but possible to use stock equipment with modification and drop pitman.

if i do use leaves and do put the springs over the axle, would i need to use a hi steer kit?

Yes, My father has his inspection license and its clearly listed on Penn Dots website under inspection information. Do these Large trucks you see have drop bumpers that make them legal? I know here in south central PA cops are real strict about lifted trucks and lowered cars

where would i get a limited slip for my d35?

umm, if your thinking of going solid dont waste any more time than nessecary on the d35. save that ls money and buy a d44, theres a few for sale of the pirate4x4 boards now, you should check them out.

^^That's what I told him on AIM. But he said that he didn't need to go solid because he's only going to run 35s. I told him he'll probably blow hubs, but he said he doesn't think he will with what he does.

im running the stupid lift and IT SUCKS. I should of geared first.... then gone solid. If your thinking of 35's gear first, without a doubt. Plus, money and time spent on the evil TTB will be much better off with a solid. It will probably in the end cost less, allow you to run as much lift as you want (you said 10-12"s) which you could never do with the ttb.

well im gettin 6" skyjacker coils, 6" skyjacket pivot brackets, extended radius arms, and new skyjacker shocks, after those a installed im taking it to get regears to 5.13's and a front l/s or aussie locker, then throwin the 35's under it, im also going to be takin off the front sway bar, and putin the rear one on with quick dissconnects

hey man, sounds like a plan. Im sure it will kick ass after its all said and done but after doing the 6" lift, i realize it would of been better to wait and build a 44 with the gears i want, locker and all for around the same price. yes its more work intensive but hey, its your baby.

yeah i would love to swap a d44 under it, but its to big of a project at this time

edit: gettin a new job at $6.75 a hr :thumbdwn: , but thatll all be used for parts and gas, also my mom ordered my 6" skj coils for my birthday!

got somemore questions, since i got a gift card for summit instead of the coils, but anyway. with my kit that i already have on now, would exteneded radius arms improve the flex better than skyjacker coils?
