So, i got the plain-jane 96 XL with the chrome wheel well trim. I have been told that it would look better if I took it off. Washing the X today, I am starting to agree with them. It's coroded in area's and is even "loose" on a coupla of the ends...

So, I know I can just rip it off rather easily. BUT, what can I expect underneath it? Residue from the adhesive; any products you'd suggest to remove it if there is any? Will the color be darker due to it being covored?

most likely much of the adheasive will remain.

That stuff is tough to remove. I have an air tool that works like a charm, but you need a compressor to use it. A whole lot of goo-gone and a whole lot of thumb action is another possibility.

If you pull very very carefully you might and I say might beable to keep all the adheasive on the moulding.
