I'm scared, I heara metallic "clank" when I first start moving, I wonder if this is my tranny. It seems to do it when I turn the wheels when moving as well, though (but I've only noticed it at low speed). I know this is general, but I have no idea what it is ... anyone had this problem or know what it is? I have a manual tranny. Thanks!

One thing you might want to check is the radius arm bushings. They are notorious for going bad and will produce a clank or thunk over railroad tracks, bumps, or when stopping and starting. Do a search here on radius arm bushing and you will find plenty of info.

One other possibility only takes 5 minutes to check... take the two screws out of the back of the steering wheel cover, and pop the center piece off. There is a metal steering dampener that comes unglued very easily, and bumps against the metal frame of the steering wheel, causing noise and vibration in the wheel.
