Cleaning A4LD valve body

Hello all!!

Does anyone know of a simple procedure for cleaning the valve body on an A4LD after it is removed??

A4LD tech manual only says to use a "solvent". I was thinking on using carb cleaner. Is that OK??

Yep carb cleaner works, just make sure you get it all off before you put it back in...carb cleaner + tranny fluid = dead tranny...

Non chlorinated brake cleaner is better. If you shop right you can buy it for a buck a can. LItle or no residue, unlike carb cleaner. I buy it a case at a time on sale at Kragen for a buck a can.
