Cleaning Throttle Body/Upper Intake

Last year I removed the throttle body and use the Valvoline throttle body cleaner. I remember looking into the intake manifold (that is the upper intake manifold right?...i don't have my book handy and I am at work) and seeing buildup on the inside. After reading other posts on power foam products, I would like to clean this out. Is it safe to spray a cleaner into this or do I have to remove the upper manifold to clean it?

You can do it either way...that is, you can spray the stuff in there, or you can remove the upper intake manifold.
