I just ordered a set of street legal clear tail lenses and clear lenses for the front. The all clear ones are not street legal here in the golden state and I personally don't like them. I really don't like the yellow lens for the turn signal on the rear and I've been searching for a red and clear lens for sometime. I found a shop here in the bay area that has them and I was extrememly happy. They should come in within the next couple of days. I'll tell you how they look and I'll post their phone number for you to give them a call.

personally when i've seen clears on the back of vehicles i like the look of them on white and blue trucks. They dont really seem to go with darker colors. I dont like them on black trucks. On the other hand they might look good too. Instead of ordering them online see if you can find a local place and take them and try them out.

Kristen, I doubt that they have them, but if you go in to Road Rage, in South County, they are very helpful, and can probably order them for you. As an Ex-St. Louis native, I proudly bear the double R's of Road Rage on my front quater panels. Their phone # is: 314-843-5999, ask for Dave, he is the owner, helluva a guy.

Hey Brian, did you send some pics of your explorer to rick to have them put up on the site? I really want to see your explorer, since its 2wd and all like mine, i'm tryin to figure out what I wanna do with mine. I'll be lookin for it. As for the clear taillights...I always thought that maybe they would look good on darker colors, kinda like chrom accessories. They kinda go with the lighter colors, but they look great on darker colors. Thats just me though, everyone has different tastes. But Kristen, I think they would look awesome on your explorer, I say go for it.

Where did you purchase the clears for the rear? I havent been able to find them anywhere. I even looked the ranger rear tail lights but there more square and wouldnt work. For others with 91-94 explorers use the clears for 89 rnagers for the front. Thats what i did. Theres a couple places on the net where u can buy the clears for newer explorers. Both front and rear.

RJXplorer, thanks for the link!! They do have clears and by the way the lady told me to order them sounded a little fishy. I ordered yesterday and she said they would be shipped this morning at 9:30 am. Again sounds fishy. But sure enough i rolled out of bed at 11 am and called only to have a UPS tracking number to be waiting for me. Good job Auto Syndicate. I will also be ordering their clear corners soon.

Am I the only one that thinks clear lens don't belong on a truck. Is this site a 4X4 site our a euro coupe site. Please leave the clear lenses to the 4 banger civics.

Just my two cents, no one cares.

Rich,

you are not the only one. But then again I could not get them for the Navajo anyway...

I think the Navajo taillights look great. my friend put Navajo lights on his EB and it looked very nice.

1st of all, it seems as if this site is not a 4x4 site. To me it is a FORD EXPLORER site... I LOVE this site, it gives me no 4x4 information whatsoever, because i do NOT have 4x4... My car is not euro, nor lowered or anything.. So the next time you see a topic like this that doesent apply to you, just pass it..

Sorry if I offended anyone, but clear lens just look right on an explorer. But that's only my opinion. I just had to say something before someone asks where they can get a 4 foot high spoiler, a coffee can exhaust system, or a 5 million spoke rim.

De gustibus non disputandum...

But there are those nagging little issues of safety and legality.

i kind of like the idea of everyone doing DIFFERENT stuff to their explorers, if we all did the same mods, then we would all have explorers that looked (and drove) like everyone else! HOW BORING! if you like clear tails, by all means buy em and enjoy! if i like 4 " lift i will enjoy it!

I agree with doing whatever you want to do. Everyone has different opinions about what looks good (richsport94) I have clears all around and like it, and I dont like the way the red ones look, but that is just my opinion. I dont build my truck so that everyone will like it, I do it for myself and do what I think looks good. Go for what you like and dont do something because someone else said it would look better! Just my 2 cents......

personnally i like the look of clears on explorers. As long as your clears in the back have colored bulbs and not regular clear bulbs that blind you. As far as the clears making our trucks into a wannabe rice rocket is a joke. On the other hand an explorer with a shopping cart spoiler would look pretty tight...lol..ya right..Our trucks have to be different from everyone elses. Some people might see your truck and like what you have done and others might not..We want to make our trucks different so there not just an everyday soccer mom suv. I have a 2wd with 4inch lift and clears in the front. Mine nowhere looks Euro style same with Brian and his explorer with a 6" lift. I think the clears make the truck look smoother. I have a white truck too so with the clears it flows with the truck.

Here's a link to a place that sells clear lights. clear lenses
The last time I knew, this site was for ALL Explorers. Yes there are alot of us that 4wheel, but we do not have exclusive rights to this board. I believe in individual likes and dislikes, the idea of personalizing your Explorer to your own likes. It is this thought that makes this site so good, we don't squelsh the ideas of others, just because we don't agree with them. In fact I have gotten a few ideas from the people who have street machines that I will incorperate into my 4wheeler.
