I'm in! If anyone needs a place to camp I got you covered (unless you want to camp up in the hills). My family has 20 acres (60 actually if you count both places) in Colona (between Ridgeway and Montrose) that anyone who wants to can stay on. There is also a shower and bathroom there as well as a place to work on your vehicle if necessary.

Hey thanks. We might take you up on that. We will be leaving Friday evening around 6pm?? from WP, It might take 3-4 hours to get there. Could you please e-mail me directions coming from Montrose?

Then we will head out the next morning.

I'll try to keep you informed as we know what is happening.

Also, will you be in Colona, or will we need to meet along the way?

If you have any suggestions on good trails, I'm all ears. We have a stock '87 Bronco, and my X going, both intermediate.

See you then.:D

I might be into it. My brother is up there this weekend for the 4th thing, scouting some trails. we wanted to do hacket but the freaking fires suck.:(

Can't join you then but the F-150 group will be ouray from August 9th-12th, or somewhere thereabouts, heh heh. We'll probably be doing boring stock trails though, we don't want to hurt our precious trucks ;)

I can meet you anywhere between Montrose and Ouray, just let me know the aprox. time you'd like to meet and I'll be there. As far as trails go, if you want to stick closer to Ouray we can run Yankee Boy Basin and while we are up there we can hit Govonor Basin. Or we could do Engineer Pass to Poughkeepsie Gulch then down to Animas Forks (this would take all day).

Sorry Guys, something came up and we will have to postpone the trip one week. Is everyone still going to be able to make it?? It would be the 26-28.

Sorry about that, some mis-communication.:(

Anyway, those trails seem good. I always like Yankee Boy Basin, but going to Animas Forks is cool too.

What would you guys like to do? I really don't care too much.

Well, I hate to say this, but I can't make it that weekend. :( I'll be in Arizona. Sorry for bailing, but my plans for Arizona have been set for a while and I can't break them. Hop to meet up with everyone on the next run though.

Sorry about the mixup. We will definately be going back, but probably not till next Spring/Summer. We have other places in mind later this year though. Hopefully you can make it to those.:(

Count me out for sure, i will be in Texas. We might be up there anyways that week without you though. Depends on what my brother finds this weekend. Thaks anyway.

Kirby, If you decide to go and want some company, let me know, I'm always up for wheeling.

Well, the list is in. Hopefully we will be able to do them all.

Yankee Boy Basin
Imogene Pass
Black Bear Pass
Engineer Pass
Corkscrew Gulch
California Gulch

All in all, a fun-filled day and a half trip.

I'd rethink black bear pass depending on whos going with you. it is certainly not terribly hard but if people are going that are afraid of heights or cliffs or shelf roads or tight switchbacks etc. this would definately not be the trail for them.

Thanks for the advice. I don't mind heights, but the people I am going with might. Don't know. I'lll ask them, he is also driving a full-sized Bronco, so it might be a little scarier.

The rest isn't that bad of a trail right?

I would NOT take a full-sized bronco on that trail. There were many spots the trail was barely wide enough for the Explorers to get through and with a few extra inches it could get really dangerous. As always, anyone is welcome to try any trail just don't come to me when your dead, LOL.

Here is a picture from the Colorado board of some guys that just did Black Bear.
You can decide if you want to take a full size or not.

I think I might try to make this run, but I'm not sure yet...It'll be one of the last weekends that I'm up here so I might just be partying, but we'll see...

Black Bear sounds like the best one! is there a place to Camp?

Well, I guess I'm not sure than about BB. If you guys really think a full-sized shouldn't go on it. He is not the most experienced driver, so maybe we will skip that one this time. I still want to do it sometime though.

Some day:D

Anyone else who wished to go, please say where you would meet us and we can stop on the way.
