Greetings all for 2013. This is my first problem this year so I hope its not a bad one. Last year in May & June I replaced the Rack & Pinion, Tie Rod ends, right side Wheel Bearing Hub, brakes, swaybar bushings (and sway bar repair kit for both ends of it), and installed a camber/caster bolt kit. Everything under the front end is new as of June 2012. Last week though, I had to get another swaybar repair kit because the rubber on on the upper and lower parts on both sides had worn out. (There was a lot of clunking involved when I made turns, which alerted me to the problem). Now however, when I make left turns, there's a metalic Thud/Clunk coming from the drivers side front wheel. It sounds as if something metal is popping in or out of place. Is this the left side Wheel Bearing Hub gone bad? (Its only 3 years old). Or could it be the upper or lower ball joints (also replaced 3 years ago at the same time), or the CV axle? I had the wheel off today looking aroung to see if anything was loose, but every thing seemed tight. Its cold as s#*t, so I dont want to be crawling around under there more than once, to fix whatever it is thats wrong. Any thoughts/advice, as always, is greatly appreciated. Cheers.:salute:

Sounds like the C V to me....just my opinion

CV axel??

If its the CV axel, dont they give off a loud clicking sound when they are going bad? Although the sound does seem to be coming from the hub area.

I had a similar problem on my 99. It took a while to fugure it out... The bushings on the upper right control arm wore out and were causing the upper arm to flop around.
When I took hard turns I would hear a clunk. At times there was also a little shaking noise like a swaybar link was loose or a ball joint was bad. This was intermitant though.
It took a while to figure out because when the car was lifted off the ground the bushings would tighten up a bit and hide the problem. It just so happened that the shop that found the problem lifted the truck with the alignment rack while I was under it and I saw it move.

I had replaced the ball joint with Moog so the arm never got replaced... Just the camber arm with the the joint in it...
