I've been having some odd problems with my gauge cluster and I'm considering replacing the whole thing with something custom. I'm thinking about making myself a whole new gauge cluster out of a piece of sheet metal and some aftermarket gauges, the whole dash will remain stock but i think i can cut the metal to fit where the factory gauge pod is. anyway my question is, is it possible to splice into the stock wiring to get things like my check engine light, turn signals, etc etc. I've already seen threads involving whole custom dashes but all i want to do is remove the stock cluster and replace it with a piece of metal with matching holes for the four screws that hold the stock one in. the reason I want to do this is every bulb i put in my stock cluster seems to die out, even some LED's I tried all died, i think its because of how rough my explorer handles and how bumpy the roads around here.
