Clutch kit How much $$

Hi everyone, my 02 explorer sport needs a clutch replacement 41k miles. The dealer wants $820.00 for parts and labor. Anyone no what the clutch kit will cost i think i will check around and get a better price on the labor.

You can get a complete clutch kit with everything you need from luk clutches for about 250. 820 doesn't sound to bad for a clutch job, there's a fair amount of work involved, but generally independant garages are cheaper.

I had a clutch done on my 93 stick. It was right around $900, and I provided the clutch kit. The cost went a little high becasue they had to drill and tap out my exhaust to get it apart. They quoted 600 to 800.
