I will be replacing my clutch master cylinder, was wondering, should I buy the master with the resevoir attached. It will add about 20 bucks.
My other question is, how do I know the problem is not in my tranny. I am not losing brake fluid , I have about an inch and a half of free play in the pedal, and it is hard to get into first gear. Note- the slave is good, so is the clutch.

does your tranny make any noise when driving? usually shifting problems have to do with the clutch system. are you sure all the air is out of the system. save the $20 and buy some beer to help in installing the master

The tranny has some bearing noise when I let out the clutch in first. But it has done that since the last twenty thousand miles. I will try and bleed it this weekend hopefully that is the problem. I might need something stronger than beer for doing the master!
