Replaced the CMP in my 93 a few weeks ago (with a 'new' Cardone unit) and it seems the squeak is worse than before I replaced it.

The squeak is rhythmic to about half the engine speed (as in cam speed) most everything in the accessory drive is new except the alternator which turns much faster than half the engine speed and the noise seems to be coming from the back of the engine.

Barring an out of box failure of the 'new' (reman probably) CMP does anything else in the neighborhood of the CMP squeak like a CMP?

Has anyone replaced a squeaky CMP and had the new one squeak as well? (Possibly from sitting on the shelf too long)

Unfortunately I sat on the 'new' part for over a year so I'm well past the defective return window.

It would be good if you could isolate the sound with a stethoscope or the old long plastic handled screwdriver trick.
