Hi everyone. Just joined this forum.

I recently acquired a 2003 Explorer XLT 4.0L It's been in my family since new. It has about 185000 miles on it. It still runs and drives great.

The issue I have is code P2270 is on. Apparently is comes on "once in a while" according to a family member who use to drive it.

It says "O2 sensor signal stuck lean - Bank 1, Sensor 2.

I realize many things could cause this like exhaust leak, vacuum leak, broken wires. I'm leaning toward replacing the O2 sensor based on the age and high mileage. Anything common to check on these vehicles?

Is bank 1, sensor 2 the drivers side down stream sensor?

Thanks.

I changed the passenger side down stream O2 sensor. So far so good.
