I took my car to the dealer and I am told that I need to spend either $1400 on new cylinder head valve gaskets or $5000 on a new engine. I have a 96' XLT with 120,000 miles and it runs good. There is a little shaking while idleing and my coolant resevour is always empty. So, I think that I indeed have a leak in a head gasket.
Instead of paying alot of money, I think i might try some stuff called Bars Head Gasket Repair. Im supposed to flush all the anti freeze and then run this stuff through with water. Is this a good solution??? Is this a solution at all?? Should I be doing something different???
Also, I am told that my #5 cylinder is where the leak is. For this Repair stuff to work I am supposed to remove the spark plug that corresponds to that cylinder. How do I know which spark plug is the #5???
The engine is a 4.0L. 4WD Automatic. I dont know if there is any other info need...just let me know.
Thanks Ford Gods in advance
