Anybody know if they have those cheap code readers for the X?

I've seen them for like $30.00 for the GM.

I got a check engine light that just came on yesterday...when I turn the heat on high the truck starts kinda like bucking when you hit the gas to take off...turn the heat off and she smoothes out...if I kick it hard sometimes the X hesitates then goes, but that heat thing is freaking me out...only time I've seen anything like that was when you're running on a battery that's about to go to sleep...

Any info on the code readers or has anyone had a similar problem???

Thanks,

Chris

Cheap OBDII scanners are around $140. Autozone will scan codes for free though.

I got an OBD-II reader (not scanner) from harborfreight tools for like $50 shipped. I haven't tried it out tho, so don't know how well it works.

I went to AutoZone and they had a few for GM, but all the Ford Readers were gone- plus they said they didn't carry the one for the X.

It's NYC and most people opt for the little fords...Focus and crap like that...

The bucking thing really had me buggin though! I was sitting there and on my way home every 2nd or 3rd red light I'd throw the heat on high and take off...then turn it off and watch the gauges Temp/Volts...but it definitely had me bugging out.

:)

I'm gonna try and hunt one down tomorrow.

Ok, $150 for 2 seconds work and the winner is- Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Failure.

Oh well, time to break out the volt meter and see if the wires screwed or it's the sensor.
