Since there aren’t lift spindles available for our trucks and I’ve seen the problems with the control arm hitting the struts, has anybody tried a spacer to bring the upper ball joint up a little bit to get the control arm closer back to stock? I was looking at mine and there would only be room to fit about a 1/4” spacer on top of the spindle and still have some thread for the ball joint to be torqued properly but then it got me thinking why not build a taller spacer and then shave off a little off the bottom of the top of the knuckle. I have a set of aviator knuckles that I’m about to swap in with the aviator brakes so it’s a perfect time to try it out especially since I have access to a machine shop. One of our engineers is big into 4 wheeling so he’s going to draw it up once I get dimensions but I’m going to bore out the ball joint bore and press in a billet top hat sleeve with a fresh ball joint tapered hole so my control arm can be more perpendicular and still use the stock ball joints. Hopefully this will help with flexing and also a smoother ride. I’m getting dimensions right now but as I make progress on this I’ll post more. Here’s some pics of what I’m talking about and an example of the sleeve I’m wanting to do(except it’ll be smooth and tapered instead of threaded)

BTF fabrication makes uniball upper control arms and they are the best option
