This is my first time on this site. I came here hoping to find people who knew where to find or covert an aftermarket Cold air intake for my 98 XLT with a 5.0.

MAC is out of them. I have one on the shelf left. I believe the only one in the US at this moment. I bought all MAC had (actually they contacted me when they were built)-j

Link You need part# 3659.

Def buy that last MAC from Jah81592.......you won't be disappointed, most of us have MAC cuz they're one of the only companies that makes a perfect application for the 5.0.

The MAC intake adds a great sound to your engine, a lil' bit of power, and installs VERY easily.....GOOD LUCK!

Very few options for 5.0. Having said that, you can't go wrong with MAC. High quality piece and reasonably priced vis a vis other intake manufacturers.

Welcome to the site. Lots of good 5.0 info on the site. (I've got a 5.0 in my '99 Eddie Bauer).

I would second purchasing form Jah81592 I got my sct livewire from him and I was very pleased with his service.

I have seen vehicles in the past where having the metal instead of the stock rubber hose taking the air from the filter back has caused the air to get heated like crazy on the way...

Has that not been an issue here?

98 XLT 5.0

No sir, MAC is the only people who make them. I have 13 kits on order and still waiting for 6 months.-j

I have a MAC intake on my 5.0L in my `92....

If I had to do it all over again....I would buy it again. No question.

Find one....and buy it....the trick is FINDING ONE!

how much sound does it add?
I don't feel they "add sound". More like it changes it a bit. If you want loud, change your muffler, remove a resonator etc.
