I have a 97 sport with the 4.0 and it sat for awhile (needed an alternator) well it's been snowing and I finally got to it but it doesn't wanna start now anyone have any helpful tips. The battery is good, the starter is fine, I changed all the plugs but it still doesn't wanna start.:thumbdwn::thumbdwn::(:(

When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump? Spray a small shot of starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it fires.

but go easy on the starting fluid,,
if your going to test that one, use it right, the engine must be turning on the starter before spraying that stuff into the engine,,
people load up the intake with it by spraying it when the engine is just sitting, than roll it over, and boom, it ignites, and if it back fires , it could do some big damage to your engine,,

I should have added a one second shot is plenty to test it with, lol.

Thanks guys I goth it started
