Color's Run at Tellico

Ok, after mentioning and talking a little bit to some other members, let's do a Color's Run at Tellico.

Who's interested? It will more than likely take place within the time frame of the last weekend in Sept.-the first 2 weekends in Oct. That is a 3 week window. We are gonna shoot for the 2nd weekend in Oct. though.

Start making plans now. If we have enough folks, we will do 2 different groups. 1 for big dawgs, should there be enough, and 1 for modifieds.

If you are unsure if your rig can make the trails up there, do a search for past Tellico runs, and that will give you an idea.

I'M IN!! :bounce: :bounce:

You gonna make the culvert this time? :p

My first 2 weekends are taken up in October and well it's football season then so I think I'll have to pass on this one. I want to make it there again but probably won't happen til next year.

Thanks for starting the thread Josh. You know I'll be there :)

You had to bring up the culvert didn't you.LOL I'm gonna try till I beat that stupid thing, or beat it down enough :)

Think it'll be to cold to camp out, or will hotel rooms be required. I've never camped in Oct. before, and I'm not sure of how the weather is in Murphy in Oct. either.

nah... not too cold. i've up in that area on the AT before during february and sleep out with no tent, just sleepin bags. it got to 11 one night. it won't be warm, but it won't be too cold to camp. lets do it!

OH I'm actually going to try and make this. I'm moving to Nashville Sept 1st so depending on how settled in I am will determine if I'm in or not. Anybody know of any other trails 'round the Nashvill area? I know Tellico isn't exactly close to Nashville, but it's a hell of a lot closer than where I am now.

I don't know if I can make it or not, but I wanted to get my name on the list so I can keep track of the thread.

The Marshmallow is still down from the last Tellico trip. It has two flats the trim missing off one 1/4 panel and a bad rear locker (:mad:I think). I haven’t even unpacked it (except for the wet tent). I did wash it! :D

DasFrem, I'm in Memphis and I haven't heard of any. Of course I have only been here for a few months. Let me know if you find some places. BTW, Tellico is only about 4 hours for you (in N'ville). I use to drive 10 to get there!

I've heard a lot about a place called Windrock that is somewhere in TN and want to go there someday.

Rick, it would be great to have you along again. I anticipate that we'll have more time to visit and have fun this time around. I got some welding rods and equipment for my trail toolbox now Dead Link Removed no more trail breakage tying up a whole day :)

i'm thinking windrock is in nashville area, but i don't know for sure. i have heard its pretty fun. maybe we'll make trip over there some time too!

If the run is close enough and I am free. I would love to drive down and ride along with someone and take them crusin's the night before or after.

I think that was my fault! Truck is doing good now, and i can't wait till the next time i can come down, but i have to find a job first:(

not to get off topic, but i thought you found a new job?

This isn't off the topic, see i have to have a job to get money to get down to Tellico! I did find a job but i quit because of the hours!!

So are you gonna try and make this one Josh? It would be great to have you along on this one too.

If it is the end of sept then, i could possibly make it. It just depends on what kind of funds i've got coming in. I should also have a winch by then too:bounce:

October or later all my weekends are tied up with bow hunting:D

Slightly off topic

I looked up Windrock and found the most info @ http://www.cs.utk.edu/~dunigan/mtnbike/wind.html
but it's still not much. It's actually about 15 miles west of Knoxville. So it's about a 6 hour drive for me, Tellico is only another 1 to 1.5 hours more.

Josh, I'd like to run with you again now that I'm more prepared and you've ironed another bug or two out :) but if it's gonna be a "Colors Run", September will probably not be too colorful. I'm voting for maybe Oct 11th for the best chance.

Slightly off topic continued
But that doesn't mean we couldn't do a warm-up run at Windrock three or four weeks before then :D

The further it's pushed back the better it will be for me I know since I may still be trying to get started in Nashville, although, no matter when it is I'll try my best to be there.

Hmmmmm, a 7 hour drive for wheelin? Could be a possibilty for me to come down from VA on the last weekend of Sept or first weekend of Oct.

Do the leaves change that early down there? Cause in the Mts of VA around Harrisonburg they don't start to change until middle to late October and hit their peak in early November.
