The 275/45R21 tires means the tire is 275mm wide. The 45 indicates that the height of the sidewall is equal to 45% of the width of the tire. Mine has foam filled tires and they suck. In cold weather it's like driving on square wheels
Why would you ever foam fill an on road vehicles tires?

Ford offered Michelin Self-Sealing tires that use a special material on the inside of the tire that could seal punctures up to 6mm (1/4 inch) in diameter in the tread area. I believe they were only available on the 2020 model year and were subsequently deleted.

I notice the Street Pack comes with 21" wheels; does this make the walls of the tires smaller? I always thought as the wheel gets bigger the sidewall gets smaller. And if the sidewall gets smaller, does it give a rougher ride?

Low profile tires give more traction and grip and better cornering, because the shorter sidewalls can’t flex as much.
The trade off is a harsher ride, more susceptibility to rim damage and grabbing tar strips in the road. This is all due to less sidewall height and flexing.

Factory slime. Part of the push to no spare tires. With Kia the base models the spare is an option. The default is a fairly decent air pump that has an attachment to pump in some sort of sealant. Definitely not an ideal solution.

While you are correct that self-sealing tires are no longer included as standard equipment on the 2021 Platinum, the self-sealing P255/55R20 all-season tires are available as an option with the 2021 XLT Sport Appearance Package. Order option 68M if you want self-sealing tires..

Where did you find foam filled tires? And why? Are they the "run flats"?

Never mind- didn't see the previous responses

depends what the aspect ratio is suvs up untill recently would be 237/75/15 256 70 16. 245 70 17.
so if the 2nd set of numbers ar like a set i had the were 255.45 17/ the sidewalls were much shorter and od was the same as stock 205 75 15 my s 10 came with.add to the fact 15 yrs ago those tires were about 250 each plus mounting. my explorer 235 75 15 were 55. plus mounting for goodyears suv tires the wide low sidewall tires did handle real nice but not worth it imo
all depends too where and what type of driving you do. and often wider tires are not good in snow and ice

run flats, self seals slime and air pump . dont work on sidewall cuts or blow outs. jut think how long for service tow in bad neighborhood or lonly country roat late night. at least with temp spare you can get home but a truck or suv needs a real spare no matter what the lier dealer tells you. jurt never buy the spare from the car dealer at purchace of the vhiecle. either ebay for some or independant tire shop

You don’t need a full sized spare, you just need a full diameter sized spare. It can still be a “donut” style and be fine.
The full sized kit from Kia is about $200. I’m sure you could do a little better.

If given the choice, I'd prefer 18" wheels. ;) Much more sidewall for a slightly better ride and less chance of 'curb rash' as well.

Peter
I thought they said I have 21” wheels on our new Platnium ?

I agree that the"donut" spare will do just fine. Now if you've put on different sized wheels/tires then you may have a problem.

The 275/45R21 is an option. 255/55R20 is the standard. If you're not sure, check the tires.
