Components?

So i'm putting in new speakers sooner or later. Is there any big advantage to having component speakers as opposed to 2-way or 3-way speakers? How hard are the components to install if there are no factory tweeter locations? Is it a waste to put components in the rear as well? Also, i plan on using an external amp to power these if that changes anything. Thanks for any advice here.

So before makin this thread I asked someone else to do a search for me to make sure there weren't already dozens of them because this feels like a pretty common question to me. Needless to say I did my own search and have since smacked my buddy upside the head. The mods can delete the thread if they want since its kinda pointless now. thanks.
