My axel code on my door says 46 D3. WTF? I have seen D2, D4 and all that, but never a D3. Any help?

I haven't seen a D3 either but the "D" typically indicates its a limited slip.

I googled "axle code d3" just for the hell of it.. Closest thing i found was the axle codes for a 99 + superduty or something
