Just noticed that my coolant reservoir is empty. Radiator still full tho. Haven't checked it in months. Anyone else notice coolant loss? Vehicle runs fine and no sign of leakage. 18,000 miles and never added any since new.

Read that must use Motorcraft Premium Gold or Zerex G-05. Any thoughts?

Edit: Just saw thread on radiator problems. Guess I look for a leak.

Interesting, I just noticed on Friday that my reservoir had very little coolant in it. I'm taking it in Wed for an oil change; I'll ask them about it then.

ETA: Just checked out the radiator thread; I'll be looking for a leak when I get home tonight...

What I saw was a lot of white residue in the area directly beneath the radiator. Maybe the result of leaking Ford Premium Gold . If I did not know better I would have thought it was salt residue from winter driving. This was after sitting for at least 4 days and not being run. I never saw any actual leakage.

No loss on my 02. Haven't touched it since I flushed it some time back. I topped it off when I replaced a leaky temp sender. Noticed coolant was low then found leak at temp sending o-ring. Now its it only deviates between cold and hot fill lines.

Maybe your reservoir cap is loose or faulty. Should be a sealed system when all is working well.

Yeah, I suppose it is possible it is something other than a radiator. At this point that seems to be a "common" problem. I should have the dealer confirm it is the radiator (warranty, you know). Thanks for the input.
