Loosing coolant....2000 Explorer 4.0L...no visible signs of any leaks, took to dealer twice. They pressure tested system and did block test, no trouble found. I noticed coolant on the base of the oil filler cap, it tastes sweet.
How would coolant get into valve covers, believe this is like this from the factory since it has done it since new...used about 2 gals coolant in 11000 miles...any help is great..

ICK!

If you had 110,000 miles on it, you would have a textbook case of a blown head gasket. Does your state have a Lemon Law? Since it is under warrantee, I would demand a loaner vehicle and leave yours at the dealer until it was fixed.

And stop tasting fluids of your car.

I believe it was "last 11,000 miles added 2 galons of coolant". Truck is newer, should not be missing coolant without visible signs of a leak. Blown head gasket all I can think of.

Aluminum heads will sometimes crack and allow oil and coolant to mix. Do you have oil film floating on the
coolant when you pull the rad. cap and look in? Also
check to see if your lube oil level creeps up mysteriously
and the stuff looks slightly milky on the dipstick. Oil
emulsion will sometimes form a tan colored bathtub ring in the coolant
reserve tank.

Other signs are vapor trail still emerging from the tailpipe
when you know it's well warmed up.

Ford dealer has just replaced the cylinder heads. Coolant was found in the exhaust ports and the exhaust manifold. Said Ford was having coolant loss problems.
