I’m changing out the original coolant temperature sensor on a 4.0 SOCH V6. I see only one wire going in the cap/plug, but the plug and sensor head has two wire attachments. Is this correct or am I missing a wire?

My 99 has 2 wires due to the plastic thermostat housing

Thank you. I had a couple of issues getting the correct part so I wasn’t sure where the problem was. Once I got the correct part and connected the one wire to the plug it worked.

Hello. One more question, there are two sensors, qrey and orange. The engine is running only few seconds and badly, should I change the qrey one or orange one? Is the other one connected to the temperature gauge and other one to ECU?

Thank you.
I'd replace that thermostat housing with a metal one
