I have a 1998 Ford Ranger and would like to know if I can swap the 3l for a 4l and if it is alot of trouble. Would I have to change radiator, trans, computer, etc. Or can it be done easier?

I know for sure you'll have to swap out the trans and the computer, not sure about the radiator.

But the trans has to be swapped out because the bellhousing pattern between the two engines are different - the 3.0 is more round where as the 4.0 is more of a hexagon.

would it be worth while replacing the computer and bellhousing or should i keep looking for another 3L. There just hard to find over the 4L.
