Short little story.

I'm leaving work tonight and I put my driver side window down to say goodbye to one of my fellow co-workers and ensure that their car starts properly and as I go to put the window up, I hear a small crack. I figured that water may have gotten down there and it was cracking as I was putting the window up... Nope! Next thing I know an even bigger crack happens as im putting the window up. I know somethings wrong and I just need to put the window up to get home and it finally gave. My guess is where the motor connects to the glass it cracked and now I need to purchase some new glass.

Anyone know where I could order one cheap?

My next try is a junkyard somewhere.

Thanks for reading :) :)

Had the exact problem happen to me. It was cold out and I raced an '06 Mustang GT for fun, rolled down the window to give a thumbs up and it wouldn't go back up. Took it to the dealership since I had 0 time to work on it and $400 later I was good to go...

I replaced the rear one myself as it broke 3 months later. Cost from Ford was around $185 if I remember. You should be able to change the front yourself, just pay attention and go easy.

so was it just the motor that went bad? or was it the glass? I can find a cheap one on amazon for around 40$.

For me it was the entire window regulator. The attachment point is plastic and it broke. They replaced the entire assembly.

So maybe that was what I was confusing for glass, it could have been plastic. I took a video of inside the window what a piece that looks like its been glued on there before, I could be wrong, but once I figure out how to upload a video I'll post it. I've only had the explorer for about 2 years now so its possible that could be the case. The dealer, if you want to call it that, was really sloppy and a piece of work.

Can Someone Identify that moving part in the video? And what I need to do to replace/fix it?
